Travelling with kids can be a bit of a juggling act when you are trying to balance your itinerary with family-friendly activities in Paris that can keep the children entertained, while still enjoying the charm of the city.
We’ve come up with a list of fun, easy activities that your kids will absolutely love (and you’ll secretly enjoy too ). So, here’s our list of family-friendly activities to do in Paris:
1. Disneyland Paris & Other Amusement Parks
Of course, no family trip to Paris is complete without a visit to Disneyland Paris, the land of fairytales, parades, and fireworks. It’s every child’s dream come true, where they get to meet their favorite Disney characters, enjoy themed rides, and watch spectacular shows that light up the sky.
But did you know that there are other exciting amusement parks in and around Paris that are just as fun and adventurous? These are some of our favorite for families who want to try something different while enjoying family-friendly activities in Paris:
Jardin d’Acclimatation – A charming mix of rides, gardens, and family activities, this park combines old-world Parisian charm with modern fun. Children can enjoy carousels, mini roller coasters, and pony rides while parents relax in the gardens or grab a treat from nearby cafés.
Parc Astérix – Perfect for adventurous kids (and parents!), Parc Astérix offers action-packed rides and themed shows inspired by the famous French comic characters. It’s a great alternative to Disneyland if you’re looking for a bit more thrill and humor.
2. Chocolate Museum & Chocolate Workshop
The chocolate workshop is definitely one of our favourites! Kids get to learn how to make their own chocolate bars, decorate them with fun toppings, and of course, taste a few samples. The experience also includes exploring the chocolate museum.
The Musée du Chocolat is a hit with children and adults alike, so you definitely should visit if your kids are chocolate lovers. This is one memory they will never forget. The best part? Parents can join in the workshop too! You can choose to simply tour the museum or include the hands-on workshop for an extra treat.
3. The Aquarium
Marine life has a magical effect on children, no matter their age. Step into the underwater world of the Aquarium de Paris or Sea Life Paris, where colourful fish, graceful rays, and even small sharks capture everyone’s imagination. It’s a fun and educational, and perfect time to bond with your kids, teach them about ocean life, and share their wonder as they explore.
4. Interactive & Immersive Experiences
Paris is full of creative spaces that go beyond sightseeing; they let you and your kids experience art, light, and history in truly magical ways. Two of our favourites are the Aura Invalides Immersive Experience and the Atelier des Lumières.
- The Aura Invalides is an immersive show that transforms the interior of the Dôme des Invalides into a multisensory experience. Children are often mesmerized by the colours, while adults enjoy the storytelling and artistry. Atelier des Lumières is a digital art museum where the walls, floors, and ceilings come alive with moving projections of famous artworks
5. Aquaboulevard Water Park
If your family enjoys water adventures, Aquaboulevard is a must-visit. It’s one of Europe’s largest urban water parks, complete with wave pools, water slides, and lazy rivers. Kids can splash and play while adults unwind — a perfect balance of fun and relaxation on a warm day in Paris.
6. Explore Paris's Zoo or Zoo Art
Discover two exciting experiences that combine learning and fun for the whole family. A visit to the Paris Zoological Park gives children the opportunity to learn about animals from around the world, observe wildlife in natural-style habitats, and develop a deeper appreciation for nature and conservation. Alternatively, the Zoo Art Show offers an immersive artistic experience where vibrant murals and interactive installations inspire creativity, imagination, and curiosity while introducing children to art in a colourful and engaging way.
7. Ride the Petit Train Around Montmartre
Montmartre is one of the must-visit neighbourhoods in Paris, but exploring its steep streets on foot can be challenging, especially with young children. A fun way to keep the kids entertained while taking in the sights is to hop aboard the Petit Train de Montmartre. This charming train ride winds through the picturesque streets of Montmartre, passing iconic landmarks such as the Sacré-Cœur Basilica, Place du Tertre, and the historic artists’ squares, allowing the whole family to enjoy the beauty and history of this famous district in comfort.
8. World of Illusions
Explore the imaginative worlds of the Paradox Museum and the Museum of Illusions, where more than 90 and 70 optical illusions and interactive exhibits, respectively, challenge your perception of reality in surprising ways. These immersive experiences are both fun and educational, making them perfect for sparking curiosity, capturing creative family photos, and discovering the fascinating science behind what you see.
9. Visit the Grévin Wax Museum
Step into the fascinating world of the Grévin Wax Museum, where children and adults can get up close with incredibly lifelike wax figures of famous celebrities, sports stars, historical icons, and beloved fictional characters. Meet children’s favourites such as Ladybug & Cat Noir (Miraculous), Paw Patrol, The Little Prince, Scrat from Ice Age, and the Raving Rabbids, while also posing for photos with world-famous personalities from entertainment, history, and sport.
10. Experience the Colour Room Paris
The Colour Room Paris is an immersive attraction designed to delight visitors of all ages. Located at 87 Rue Saint-Lazare, this interactive experience features a series of themed rooms filled with colourful installations, playful displays, and photo-worthy backdrops.
